Introduction

Døgn is a native macOS app for time tracking. It lives in the menu bar, records your billable work time on projects, and turns it into finished reports per client. Døgn has no Dock icon and no main window: you control everything through a popover that opens from the menu bar. Your time data is stored locally on your Mac by default; configured integrations are described explicitly.

Døgn sits as a small icon in the menu bar. A click on it opens the popover — the app's central surface. From anywhere, you can also bring the popover up with the keyboard shortcut ⌃⌘T (Control-Command-T).

From top to bottom the popover holds: the period picker with the day timeline, the list of your clients with their projects, the earnings row, and the footer with the actions „Time entry", „Reports" and „Settings".

How you work in Døgn

Day-to-day work with Døgn always follows the same pattern:

• Set up. Add your clients and projects with their hourly rates.
• Track. Start a timer for the project you are working on — or add times by hand afterwards.
• Review. In the reports you see time and earnings per client for the chosen period.
• Hand off. Export your time entries as CSV or send them to downstream systems through webhooks.

Requirements

Døgn needs macOS 15.5 or newer. For the system-wide shortcut ⌃⌘T, Døgn asks once for Accessibility permission; the popover via a click on the menu-bar icon works without it. No account and no sign-in are required — you start right away.
